Karen Rogers
Karen Rogers has a 41-year career in the U.S. Federal Government which includes civilian positions for the U.S. Air Force and the NIH. As the Associate Director for Operations in the Office of Loan Repayment and Scholarship, she supported the Loan Repayment Program that was established to attract additional highly qualified physicians, nurses, and scientists to research at the NIH. She supported the launch of the Undergraduate Scholarship Program that offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds that are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. Many of the students completed their pay-back employment and are currently working as biomedical researchers at the NIH. Karen has worked in the Office of Technology Transfer since 2005. She served as the Acting Director to support the reorganization of the NIH Technology Transfer Community and now as the Chief, License Compliance and Administration.
