NIH OTT's Steve Ferguson will be speaking at the NIH-KWiSE (Korean-American Women in Science and Engineering, NIH Chapter) Biotech Intellectual Property Forum on March 21, 2024.
What is technology transfer/business development and what are the career opportunities in the field? What are the skills required and how does one acquire them? How can a scientist start a non-traditional career such as this? These are the questions to be answered in this presentation.
Steve Ferguson currently serves as Special Advisor at the NIH Office of Technology Transfer where he has worked since 1990. The biomedical technology transfer program at NIH is one of the world’s largest with a portfolio that includes over 2,000 active licenses with aggregate sales greater than $10B per year that is based upon research that has also generated 44 FDA-approved drugs & vaccines.
