OTT’s Samuel E. Bish, Ph.D. Selected as the 2011 Technology Transfer “Rookie of the Year” by the Federal Laboratory Consortium Mid-Atlantic Region

The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer Mid-Atlantic Region (FLC-MAR) has selected Samuel E. Bish, Ph.D., a Licensing & Patenting Manager in the Cancer Branch of the NIH Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), as the 2011 winner of its Rookie of the Year Award.

The FLC-MAR Rookie of the Year Award recognizes the efforts of an FLC laboratory technology transfer professional in the region who has demonstrated outstanding work in the field of technology transfer in a manner significantly over and above what was called for in the normal course of their work during the past year. The nominee must be new to technology transfer with three years (or less) experience in a technology transfer position.

Dr. Bish earned his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology with a minor in biochemistry from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. in cell biology and molecular genetics from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He received his new award at a ceremony held on October 6, 2011 at the FLC-MAR Annual Regional Meeting in Cambridge, MD. More information about upcoming activities of the FLC-MAR can be found here.
